We were delighted that Chris came to talk to us about using his heirloom gold. His father had given him some dress studs in the 1970's and he had been keeping them safe for over 40 years, but he couldn't remember the last time he had worn them. The dress studs were made from 9ct gold which had a lovely classic colour, not as yellow as a higher grade gold. He wanted to turn them into something he could give his wife, Caroline, for her birthday.
We talked to him about how we could melt down and reuse his gold and showed him our range of jewellery. As it turned out, there was enough metal for us to make a pair of Disc stud earrings, and he thought Caroline would love their contemporary form.
Chris is just the kind of customer we love dealing with. He understood that the sentimental value of his gold could be transferred into a new piece of jewellery which would be worn and enjoyed again. Here is what he said....
"What does a chap do with the gold dress studs which his father left him, and which he is never going to wear? Off to Gold Park, who made them into an elegant pair of gold earrings for his wife. Simple, graceful, and stylish. A wonderful rejuvenation."
